Led by our owner George, our salon first opened its (charmingly crooked) doors in April 2010 with a vision of bringing contemporary and creative hairdressing services to the local area.

Over the years we’ve added more services to our offer and welcomed an experienced team of staff to help us meet our goal of providing a full menu of quality hair and beauty treatments all under one roof.

We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built as a quality and reliable service that our clients can trust.

Our Team

George has 25 years experience in the industry, starting in Matlock, Derbyshire as a Saturday girl while still at school. Since then her professional hairdressing journey has taken her from Matlock all the way to Sydney Australia, before landing back in Bakewell in the early 2000s.

Since opening Bridge Street Hair & Beauty on her own in 2010, George has steadily built up a small, friendly, relaxed salon into a bustling, creative, professional environment with a first class reputation.

George has built up a loyal client base but loves welcoming new clients and working with them to find the best solutions for their needs. Outside the salon George is kept busy by her two children, husband and wider family who she is very close to.

George holds the following qualifications:

  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 1, 2 & 3 Hairdressing, Assessing Candidates and Delivering Learning
  • L’OREAL Professional Colour Keys Diploma
  • TIGI Creative Cutting
  • Create Beautiful Hair 2 Day Bridal Hair Course with Pam Wrigley, Winner of UK Best Wedding Hair Stylist Award TWIA 2013
  • Next Step Beauty Threading Certification.

Georgina Harrison - Salon Owner image

Lou has 10 years experience in hairdressing and has been working alongside George since 2010, after qualifying from college.

Lou enjoys expanding her knowledge in all aspects of hairdressing - learning about new hairstyles and carrying out new styling and colouring techniques.

Outside the salon, Lou has a passion for horses, enjoys long walks with her pet Jack Russell and trips out to watch films at the cinema. Louise also volunteers at Chatsworth helping with the events held there.

Lou holds the following qualifications:

  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 1, 2 & 3 Hairdressing
  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 1 & 2 Barbering
  • L’OREAL Professional Inoa Colour
  • TIGI Creative Cutting
Louise Brewster - Stylist image

Tina has 28 years experience as a beautician and is also a qualified motorbike instructor and a volunteer with the RSPCA!

A few years ago, Tina decided her main passion was in beauty and working with her clients and has left the motorbikes behind (for now!).

Tina is a qualified Dermalogica facialist and stockiest and has 10 years experience using Jessica nails products.

Tina holds the following qualifications and skills:

  • City and Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy
  • Electrolysis
  • Dermalogica Facial
  • Jessica Nails
  • Hairdressing
